[Perfect Sunday Breakfast] Black Current Jam French Toast Recipe

It's Sunday today and we are making french toast. yes, that egg-y bread lightly fried in butter and there are plans to make it even better by topping it with some jam-y goodness. The ingredients that you need to make a french toast are quite simple. I have tried a spicy, savoury version many times before but today's recipe kicks that out of the window to become my hot favorite way to eat breakfast, any day, any time!.

How do you like your french toast? - sweet or savoury? with fruit or without? with tea or coffee? what is your favorite accompaniment? I am all ears for what you have to say! :-)

Gravied Drumstick Recipe from Sukham Ayu

I saw and I made it. Almost immediately and it rarely ever happens.

You see, one of the many weekly chores I do every Sunday is to dedicate an hour or so devouring on the many luscious cookbooks I own. I want to make best use of them by cooking atleast few of the recipes. There are many beautiful ones which use simple, everyday ingredients waiting to be explored. But, time is the real evil here. Wish I had a life where I can lazily wake up whenever I want, find a pantry full of ingredients (without the pain of going for shopping), a basket full of garden fresh vegetables, waiting to be chopped and all I have to do is take a book out from my book shelf, cook and eat! Sigh! that's just a dream. I know.

[Book Review] Bongmom's Cookbook by Sandeepa Mukherjee + Beguni (Spicy Eggplant Fritters) with Dhonepata Chutney (Coriander Chutney) Recipe

Just when I thought that food memoirs are getting one-dimensional (read as boring), I stumbled upon Sandeepa's new book which she penned based on her childhood memories of being a bong. In her introduction page she says - "This is my story, but it might well be yours and may be even yours". That's so true to its every word.

Phool Makhane Ki Keer | Puffed Lotus Seeds Milk Pudding - a Step by Step Recipe

I don't usually dig on desserts much and prefer wandering on the savory side of a(ny) dinner table. Sadly, too much of sweet stuff gives me headache, unlike the others in my family who really adore them. I hadn't made any kind of kheer for many months now so, I decided to make some past weekend. It's light, refreshing that can be made with a number of different add-ins and in my recipe, I chose to use dried lotus seeds (phool makhana), a packet that was sitting in my pantry, untouched for many many months now.

Dhaba Tadka Mix + Dhaba Style Urad Dal - a Step by Step Recipe

Looks like those hot, summer days which I have been complaining in almost every post since past few months are on the move. Humid, sultry nights are being slowly replaced with breezy, chilly ones and trust me, am not complaining at all. I dread hot days and simply love winters as am a through & through wrap-a-shawl-and-have-a-cup-of-hot-tea kinda girl. :-)
