My Legume Love Affair (MLLA) # 62 - an event announcement + two additional giveaways to win!

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that my favorite food event of all - My Legume Love Affair will be  hosted here for the month of August. It has been a while since I hosted the last one which was way back in 2010.  Now, its time to rock and roll again, to celebrate the goodness and versatility of our dear legumes.

Since August is also the month where this blog of mine celebrates its 6th year of existence, I have added couple of more giveaways to win for this event. All you have to do is whip up a dish with legumes as key ingredient and send it over to me. This event is open to all - bloggers and non-bloggers alike and each entry is eligible for the random drawing of the 4 prizes being offered.

Get those aprons of yours ready to cook some delicious legumes all month along!. I am waiting. :-)

Some simple rules of participation:

1. Only recipes where a legume is the star ingredient are to be sent.  Use of the below MLLA logo is optional.

In French, a legume denotes any vegetable but here we are talking about legume in its widely accepted or known meaning as in beans, lentils or pulses. Just to give you an idea of what should be considered as legumes for this event - lentils, any fresh or dried beans, soy beans and their derivatives like tofu, garbanzo beans / chickpeas and their derivatives like besan, tamarind, fenugreek, carob and peanuts etc.

2. Entries must be vegetarian (eggs and dairy products are allowed). Only 1 entry will be accepted per blogger/participant.

3. You may submit any recipe featuring lentils provided you have posted it on your blog between the 1st and the 31st August, 2013 (both dates included). You can re-post old posts provided you re-post that recipe this month and update it to include the necessary links to qualify for participation.

4. Your MLLA post should mention the phrase "My Legume Love Affair" and contain links to this announcement post, Lisa's MLLA information page and to Susan’s MLLA page as well.

5. Send your details - Name, Recipe URL, Location (A MUST) and Photo (any size) with a subject line of 'MLLA' to info(dot)siri(at)gmail(dot)com.

6. Non-bloggers can also participate by sending in their recipes with the details mentioned above to the same email address. Such entries too are qualified to win the random drawing.

The deadline for entries is August 31st, 2013. The round-up will be posted in the first week of September.

Now for the fun part where you can win a bunch of giveaways.

How the winners will be chosen -

After the 31st of August, 2013 my little nephew will randomly draw a winner from all the entries. If the winner is in the U.S., they will get both the Hurst Bean package and Susan's giveaway. If the winner turns out to be outside the U.S, he/she will get the drizzling spoon from Susan and I will draw again from the U.S. residents only for the Hurst Bean Products. A separate drawing will be done for rest of the two giveaways, sponsored by me. Note: My family and personal friends are not eligible to win any prize.
