Indulgence is a mean thing and whenever am sad or sick, I tend to gorge of these goodies. It is not good for the body, I know but it does help to liven the moment a bit and pep me up!
I am huge fan of tara root and growing up, it was made pretty frequently with a splash of tamarind. Today's recipe is another version where tararoot is boiled as usual, cut into slices and deep fried to give it a crunchy texture. Then they are tossed in few spices for a flavor kick. These taste so good that I ate half of it like a snack before it even reached the dinner table. Serve with hot rice and don't forget to add ghee or butter. With this recipe, you will view this vegetable in a whole new light and am sure will love it as much I do. Enjoy!

Wow, this looks so great. I don't think I've ever seen tara root let alone cooked with it!
ReplyDeleteI have seen this in Bangalore vegetable markets, but my mom never cooked with it...
ReplyDeleteI should try it sometime, if it's available in Atlanta Indian grocery stores.
